Lazy day today, just here to say that I'm alive and "Happy 5th LJversary" to me, even if I haven't posted anything on here since my birthday.

I will say this though, I have been watching the Pokemon Sinnoh League saga that's happening now, with a long 3 weeks for the Ash vs. Paul fight next. I will be pissed if Ash loses this fight given the current match record against those two (IIRC, Ash has yet to win against Paul.). Not to mention, the battle after that in the tournament possibly being Ash vs. that Darkrai trainer would be a great way to end this long lagging chapter in the Pokemon anime.

Happy 20th Birthday to me! Now to get back to FFXI.

It's like if World War 2 was mixed with Robot Unicorn Attack!

Well, April has been busy and lazy.

Busy: RL stuff, been helping dad starting up a garden for self-sufficiency throughout the household. With the weather and the bees so far, this is going to be a good harvest year.

Lazy: Haven't played FFXI AT ALL. I need to get back on it. Mainly Pokemon Soul Silver has been my focus. Beat the Elite Four on that last night & will be exploring Kanto soon.

Anyways, I'm at Nashville for MTAC this weekend. Gonna get ready with my cosplay very soon.

I did happen to get my Chocobo Beret a week ago from today. Screenshot below of Lchan with it on standing next to the NPC that helped her win:



Anyways, I am now fully recovered from a sore throat cold I happened to catch on the same day I got the beret. Catching a cold after having not been sick at all for over a year? Yeah, was not fun at all.

Apparently though it's like the Day Care in terms of getting EXP, your Pokémon don't learn its normal level-up moves if they reach the required level from the PokéWalker. Now my poor Cyndaquil will never learn Quick Attack, even if it is a minor setback. Seems the best Pokémon to to use this for are:

•HM Slaves
•Pokemon with Pickup that you want at a high level.
•Level 100 Pokemon
•Pokemon high enough to not learn anymore level-up moves.
•Pokemon you don't bother to use in your team.

Of course if you're in a course where your objective is to catch Pokémon, you'll also have to take advantageous types into account.

In case you were wondering, yes, I did get Pokémon Soul Silver. Obtained it Sunday, but didn't start playing until yesterday because I wanted to finish the main story in Platinum that I put off for so long.

Soul Silver so far is great with the new features, mainly the permanent running shoes, the new PokéGear, and the ability to register 2 key items, even though I only just arrived at Violet City. I also gave the PokéWalker a try today; really fun for taking a break to just walk around then grab a few new Pokémon and some items during or afterwards. I really recommend a cover or pouch for it though as I already saw a couple scratches on mine, the poor thing. Luckily, I found an old leather pouch of mine that was used to store a decorative gem which was a perfect fit for the PokéWalker.

Man, even though I haven't been playing FFXI much at all recently, these past couple months my luck with events in it are really good.

Mog Bonanza New Year's 2010: Both my characters won Rank 5 & Rank 4, chose the Shadow Lord Statue (Rank 5) & Orichalcum Ingot (Rank 4) for them.

VanaFest 2010 Twitter Quiz: Though the event is still ongoing, I think I might've won the Chocobo Beret prize on the 5th question according to this. The hash tag for the trivia even shows me as the first replier. If I do get it, I will post a picture of Lchan with it on next to the NPC who helped me win at least in 4 places: This LJ here, my Twitter, my Facebook, & FFXIAH.

Also, since this was heavily delayed & never got around to it, my FFXI fortunes for the year:

I don't know how far I dug in to win that much luck I described above.
